Former defensive lineman Garrett Ryan has not strayed too far away from Walton football since the early 2000s when he helped lead the Raiders to a 12-2 record and a trip to the state semifinals in 2004.
In the last two weeks, he’s been helping his old team upgrade the Ed Dudley Fieldhouse.
Ryan, who went on to play football at Mississippi, is the co-owner of Elite Carpet & Matting Company in Atlanta alongside his father Eric, donated new carpet and padding.
He offered his free services, as a way of giving back to his program that fully supported him during his career.

“It feels great to give back and support the program,” Ryan said. “(Playing for Walton) were very formidable years for me personally. It feels good to give back to a program that meant so much to me and my family. We had a strong senior class I grew with. They’re a great group of guys.”
